Berries and flowers attract native birds

A rare shrubby tree growing to 4m around lowland and hilly forest margins, forest scrubland, rocks and banks from sea level to about an altitude of 1000 metres. The flowers are profuse and fragrant. The flower panicles can reach 2m in length. A mature plant with multiple stems and long drooping pale green to yellowish green leaves provides a tropical feel to a cool climate garden.
